Climate and Weather of Everest varies with the seasons. During the months of October / November and March / May, the weather is mild and usually drier making the walking trails good to go. These are the ideal months and also the peak season for trekking into Khumbu. Spring season brings in blooming of wild flowers, predominantly the rhododendrons; while during autumn, skies are crystal clear with most brilliant mountain views.
Probabilities of snow are higher in the winters, and during the late winter, chances of high passes being blocked are high. Most of the tea-houses will be closed down at around this time of the year. Trekking is generally inappropriate during the summer & monsoon seasons as the trails will be slippery and leeches infested, mountains can be obscured by clouds too. Nevertheless, traveling can be rewarding if all these drawbacks are tolerated since wild flowers will be in full bloom and fewer travelers on the trail during these seasons.
